Premium brand, high quality 316 Grade stainless steel flexible chimney flue liner 5" (125mm) diameter.
A complete installation / fitting kit consisting of:
- 10m flexible liner
- Adaptor to join to your stove pipe
- Fire cement to seal up the joints at the bottom end of the system,
- A nose cone / guider - that fits on the end of the liner during installation making it easier to pass down the chimney.
- Cowl and fittings for the top of the chimney (please select type required, see below for advice).
What diameter of liner do I require?
5" liners are suitable for DEFRA Approved stoves with a 5" outlet, e.g. the Oslo Eco stove, or Ekol 5 or 8kW models, plus all of the Saltfire ST range. (if your stove is not a DEFRA Approved model then you would normally need a 6" liner if burning wood - please call us if unsure).
What length of liner do I require?
The liner is sold by the metre. Measure the height from the point at which the liner will start (above the stove, at the top of your length of enamel flue pipe, see diagram) up to the top of the chimney (including the pot if it is present). Allow for any bend or offset in the chimney. We sell the liner kit complete with 10m of liner whicvh covers 99% of properties. You need to cut the liner to get the exact size. If you need more than 10m please just call us before ordering.
Which cowl option?
For houses that have no chimney pot at the top of the chimney stack (the original pots have often been removed on old houses), then you will normally use our "Top Plate option". This consists of a steel top plate approx 400mmx400mm which will sit on top of the brick chimney stack (bed it down with cement), plus a clamp that will take the weight of the liner, plus the rain cap/cowl that sits on top. You can then flaunch around the cowl with cement. We also offer this option with a birdguard cowl, available in plain steel, black or terracotta colours.
If your chimney has a traditional round terracotta or clay pot on top and you intend to keep it then the liner can be fed down through the pot. In this case you only have one item at the top instead of three. This is called an All-In-One cowl, and will sit into the top of the pot and also take the weight of the liner. This is available in steel or in a special Anti-Down-Draught version which is terracotta in colour and will help prevent down draughts (useful if in an area where there are high winds etc.).
What other parts are needed for a stove installation?
Have a look at the diagram showing a typical installation. You will normally require a short length of the black enamel stove flue pipe e.g. 1m. Please see these here , plus the register / closure plate - a steel plate that fits across inside your chimney above the stove, see here. Once the liner is down the chimney you may wish to insulate it with Vermiculite. Insulating the flue will generally improve the draw.
